Croda Launches Products For Hair and Skin l Croda Inc. has launched several new products, which claim to improve the condition of hair and skin. For hair, Lustreplex, a new polyquaternium designed to provide lustrous, healthy-looking hair, reduce the effect of humidity and provide manageability and control over frizz. For skin, the Super Sterol Liquid for conditioning, repairing and moisturizing is similar in structure to the lipids in the skin’s own stratum corneum. This biocompatibility, combined with Super Sterol Liquid’s complex composition, promotes repair of the skin barrier by creating an environment suitable for healing. Crodasperse is designed to make the process of sunscreen formulation easier and less costly. Prosina is a hydrolyzed keratin intended for the treatment and protection of hands and nails. Phytessence Wakame, derived from Japanese kelp, works to prevent the breakdown of hyaluronic acid to maintain skin’s youthful appearance. Crodarom Blue Lotus PG contains bioflavonoids, which are known for their antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory properties and ability to improve blood capillary strength. Cromage Passiflora 30 provides exfoliation, is biodegradable and all natural. Keralenis, an ethnic product designed to simplify hair relaxer production and provide enhanced functionality, is a new self-emulsifying system. It creates stable hair relaxers at lower temperatures and possesses emulsifying properties that allow it to form multilayer lamellar structures within the emulsion. A new guide, “Creating Better Ethnic Hair and Skin Formulations,” is designed to assist formulators creating products for the ethnic market. It is divided into three major sections: hair, skin and botanicals. Each section contains information on how to create the different products for that area as well as recommendations for Croda ingredients that will enable the formulator to create products.
